Connect using wifi without router

What is a good app to connect two devices using wifi without a router? Just to share pics, vids, and files. I have a Bionic (4.1.2) and a Polaroid PMID705X (4.0.4, wifi only) tablet I'm wanting to do this with. Thanks

I was about to suggest sharing through Bluetooth as well. Let us know how things go.

The only problem with Bluetooth, is the tablet doesn't have it.

Do you mean that you don't have a router, or are you saying you just want to be able to do it wherever you happen to be? The best suggestion I can give is to use a cloud service like Google Drive or Dropbox. It will still require a wifi internet connection.
