I just rooted a friend of mines Rezound and now they are having the OTA issue. What is the consensus on dealing with this? Thanks

Can you be more specific, what did you do for him? Unlock and root, alone. Debloat? DeSense? Install a custom ROM? Sounds like he's still on GB. If bloat is removed, then it will continue to notify and download but it cannot install w/ bloat disabled. FYI, an ICS ROM ceases all that nonsense

The consensus is to do a quick forum search. The issue has been talked to death, seeing as how the OTA was weeks ago.
Restore bloat, flash stock ROM, RUU, etc, etc.

I don't quite think an ICS ROM is the answer. Personally I would say install Scott's GBE 1.6.5 which is the OTA minus the radio update(which the jury is still out on).

Verizon's track record of OTA's is pathetic and thus they should be avoided until the dust settles out and the dev's do what dev's do and fix the problems the OTA's cause. The only OTA I've ever experienced that went without a hitch was the update from Eclair to Froyo on the Inc.

Agree with Mr. Smith. Scotts CleanROM GB 1.6.5 is a fantastic ROM for those looking for a "stock" experience without the hassle of the OTA nonsense. Also gonna put in a shout for Ineffabilis from Chingy...its an awesome ROM with customizable tweaks built in and NO OTA notification!

I actually did a forum search and as this thread proves there seems to be differing opinions on how to best deal with it. Some say an ICS rom others say not.

I unlocked, and perm rooted. I did not put a custom rom on or debloat.

Ah. I assumed you wanted to accept it. ICS ROM is just a way to avoid it altogether, while CleanROM GBE 1.6 and above already has it installed.

Really, aside from agreeing that rooting has advantages over remaining stock, consensus rarely exists in forums.:)

Ha ha!! And people even debate THAT! I think the only consensus I've ever seen (apart from the odd jacka$$ here and there) is that this website and these forums rock it!

Yo, Wanda. I'm real happy for you, and I'ma let you finish, but Android Central forums have the greatest consensus of all time!
