I have a moto z play and the port seems to be going out as in I can't full charge the phone. I've bought another charger and same issue. Barely stays in. Anyway, I been looking around and figured I would look at these Oneplus phones.

1. How are these with updates? That's including Android Updates.

2. How is the battery life? I can get a couple days with my Moto Z Play on some heavy use.

3. What is the difference between the 5 & 5T? Is it just the size of the phone?

If I think of more I will ask. I appreciate any and all help. Just want to make the right choice because phones usually last me years before I change.

1. Pretty good, since the 3.

2. Good, not Z play good, but nothing is. I have to try hard to not make it through the day with the 5.

3. Aspect ratio, 5 is 16:9 5T is 2:1 and slightly larger in the vertical. Fingerprint scanner 5 on the front 5T on the back. Capacitive keys 5 has them 5T doesn't...I think that's about it. EDIT: Oh. And the cameras,5 has a 2x (kinda) telephoto zoom in addition to the main camera, 5T has a low light camera which from what I've read may be useless...

Hello! I'll do my best to answer your questions too!

1. Updates are actually quite good it seems, even when OnePlus stops producing the phone in question.

2. Battery life on the 5-series seems to be pretty good and beefy. There's also Dash Charge, which seems to work magnificently. The OnePlus 5 has 3300 mAh and the 5T also has 3300 mAh.

3. There are a few differences between the two. The OP 5 is 5.5", whereas the 5T is 6.0"; but according to some users and reviewers, it still feels pretty similar to the 5 in the hand and doesn't feel too big.

Also, the fingerprint scanner on the 5 is on the front; and on the back with the 5T, giving you more screen real estate.

I would say they are both pretty comparable, but the 5T is kind of OP's "upgraded" version to the already-started 5. Only thing is, OnePlus has discontinued the 5 and it is now very hard to find (at least here in Canada). Amazon does sell the 4, but for an insane amount of money. Though I prefer the 5, I would probably recommend the 5T; as that is the flagship killer OP is sticking with and showcasing thus far.

Very nice to hear all this. And it would be worth getting now correct? I totally get phones are like yearly releases, but don't want to end up getting the 5t and then the 6 is announced a couple months later haha

OnePlus has released a phone every 6 months in the last two cycles. 5t is the latest, so you might as well grab it. No matter when you buy, the next release of a device will arrive. Just get what you want. Use the heck out of it, root it if necessary today with a current OS, and in 5 or 6 years buy a new device.

Absolutely, it is worth it to get it now. OnePlus releases new phones quickly, but they are all in a league of their own - they don't call them "flagship killers" for nothing! - so (in my opinion), no matter which OnePlus phone you get, you will be satisfied!

Also, as the user above me stated, there will always be a new iteration, a better phone, a better upgrade... And that is how the smartphone world gets us! Try to focus on this: is this the phone you want? Will you be happy with it for the long-term? If you can answer these questions honestly, go for it!
