Considering a switch from the Galaxy S4 to Nexus 5...

Re: Might jump ship from the S4...thoughts?

I picked up the N5 last Friday and Sold my S4 on Sat. It's SO much faster and TW was starting to get on my nerves. It took me a full day to get used to the stock experience(first time), and it was a little frustrating but now I'm happy.

If we get new camera software, this phone will be pretty close to perfect(IMO). I also ditched verizon and switched to T-MO.....and that makes me happy. :)

Pretty much in the same boat as me. Although I rarely take pics so I could care less about the camera. I did like the S4's screen but I was very willing to sacrifice that for the ability to root and load custom roms AND not be locked into a contract with Verizon. I jumped to TMobile as well and so far have not noticed a difference in service where I live. I will add the disclaimer that I have not traveled since I got the phone so I'm sure I will see a noticeable difference once I do. All that being said, very happy to have made the jump so far.

Re: Might jump ship from the S4...thoughts?

I ended up selling the Nexus. Is it a better phone than the S4? Yes. Is it $350 better? IMO no, it's not. I'll probably wait another year so the performance gap is bigger. The speaker issue really bothered me and I wasn't about to take a brand new phone apart to see if some of the glue got on it. At least there's no more wondering. I will say that the Nexus felt great in my hand and the performance difference was there, just not worth it $$ wise for me...I took that $$ and bought stuff for the car I don't need lol.

Thanks for all the opinions guys.

I think the Nexus 5 makes a fine secondary device. ...a nice change of pace. However, after owning one, I realized I would never be satisfied with it as my only driver. That feeling is the fault of the exceedingly powerful G2, which to me, is the superior device.

Just trying to understand how you do this? Do you have two separated service accounts, duplicated Sim cards or do you move the Sim card from phone to phone? Since USB ports wear out from charging I would expect a very short life from moving a Sim card in and out every day.
