Considering leaving Sprint for AT&T

I am considering leaving Sprint. My service seems to be getting worse and worse lately on top of the slow data speeds is getting really frustrating. I am in the process of selling my iPhone 4s to help make this happen.

I probably will have the large ETF to worry about but being able to be on. GSM carrier will help make up for that plus AT&T speeds are much better. Anyone have any opinions on this.

Actually yes I do. I'm on Virgin Mobile which resells Sprint service, and I get absolutely horrible signal in my home. The bars stay at two or below, and it's frustrating because sometimes I can't even stream a 64kbps mp3 on TuneIn radio without it stopping 3 or 4 times. Literally.

Since I'm on prepaid, I can just switch over to another carrier (and I'm so fed up I will be doing that shortly). But for you, I would actually call Sprint customer service and complain. Tell them you are getting horrible signal, bad call quality, poor streaming, whatever. Be detailed. Tell them very directly you are considering dropping Sprint and switching to AT&T.

It's possible, but not guaranteed, that they MAY send you a "signal boosting" device for your home. This will allow you to get 4 and 5 bar quality constantly and consistently in your home. One such device is called the AirRave. I have looked into it but since I am on Virgin I would have to buy it. But there is a chance they may send you one complimentary.

So call Sprint to notify them, and see what they tell you. Hope you find a good solution.

I was with Sprint for 18 years finally got tired of the slow connection and the WiMax disaster. Got my skyrocket with the latest leak UCLF5 and it flies on LTE and HSPA+. You will never see AT&T speeds with Sprint. The"now" network will forever be a day late :p

I left their dial network last month and I love ATT so far! THey even have pretty good CS so far!

I have ATT in the Cincinnati, OH area and love it. Haven't had any problems at all with reception.

I've heard good things about StraightTalk too so if you get a Galaxy Nexus you could try that and possibly save a few bucks. If you don't like it you could always switch to ATT later then get a phone and sell it on EBay to offset the cost of your Nexus a bit.

Sprint is like a regional carrier trying to compete with the national carriers. They are recovering from their WiMax failure and their LTE network isn't even functional yet. I made the switch to AT&T. Much better customer service, data speeds, and (I believe) prices. It was definitely worth it.

Sprint makes up for being behind in technology by being the low price leader. My work phone is a blackberry bold from sprint. Main issue for me is super slow data and can't be online and talk at same time. Both of which my personal phone do, old HTC aria on at&t.

Make the switch.

I switched from Sprint to AT&T, yes the data speeds are faster and more reliable, I get cell service in places I didn't before, but do plan on paying more, 2 phones lowest priced family plan, unlimited text and any mobile to mobile, 3GB data, and I'm paying more on AT&T for 2 lines than I did for 3 unlimited everything lines all with the 4G charge or whatever Sprint called it.
