My wife and I are both considering getting our 1st android phones. There are so many phone choices, that it's a little overwhelming. Can someone help me with info and pros/cons for Sprint's android collection?

I want something on the higher end of the spectrum. Some I've been considering:

  • Nexus S 4G (Assuming I get one that can hold a signal. I like that it's sure to get all OS updates straight from Google, don't like that it doesn't have expandable memory)
  • Evo 3D (not really interested in the 3D, but it has great specs)
  • Epic 4G (being a year old, how long will it still be supported)
  • Echo (don't need 4G since it's not in my area. like the idea of dual screens, but I have a sneaking suspicion that it just a gimmick, and won't be supported much longer)
My wife probably want something lower on the spectrum (internet, email, basic apps, etc). What's a good cheaper phone that will continue to be supported? (It's hard to find info on the lower end phones.)

Thanks in advance for the help.

Depending on what and where you live. Do you already have Sprint or get good service where you live with Sprint? This is important because so many people complain about a phone and how it is slow and other things but fail to realize that you really dont want to get something that you can't use where you are 85% of the time like in your home town. So if you are good with that.

For your wife the phones out right now that would be good for her, the optimus S is a Great little phone . does everything you want it too. The EVO shift is also a great little phone with support , has sense which people love. The Replenish will do those simple tasks for her. The Echo Could be a good choice for if she can get use to the touch keyboard and size of it. My wife hates touch screen keyboards lol.

For you, You can't go wrong with any of your first 3 choices. The N4g will get support straight from Google which means you get it first. The HTC3D is the most current spec phone going to be out for Sprint so your good for the next 2 yearswith that. The Epic is just like the N4G just has a keyboard and Touchwiz. The updates were slow and painful lol but they are working the Devs now and coming out with them faster.

They're more phones coming out soon so if you need something now your choices are solid but if you can wait abit you will have more outstanding choices with Sprint. Good luck.
