Considering the G2. Impressions?

got a question maybe someone can anaswer I was in a store in NYC this evening, checking out all the phones, and pretty much trying to decide between Note 3 and LG G2. I currently have thee gnexus which the battery life is horrendous and so is radio signal.

I am torn, main selling point for me is price $99 for G2 vs $299 for Note 3, big savings right there. Biggest thing look for is screen, camera, speed.

One thing I was concerned about is radio strength and reception. While I was there I pulled up speed test app on both phones and they were maybe 3 feet from each other both going to same server, same results everytime the Note3 got 30-40 download, while G2 got 2-4 if lucky

There were 2 bars on the G2, 4 bars on Note3, but looking at strength both said -77 - 79 and within same range.

Any reason why G2 would be much slower? Is there an update maybe they have not applied in store?

My wife has the Note3 and it's awesome, but yes $300. I just don't want that big a phone. Messed with the G2 and One again today, and man that's a great screen. The salesperson is a friend of ours and he's got one, and no complaints. He says the LG Android software isn't quite what the Samsung and HTC is, but it's minor. He had no signal complaints on 4G. I didn't try the download test though. The One and G2 are the same size, but the G2 screen is a lot bigger.

I think the answer to this question is that it seems to be mainly a reviewers-only feature. Android already has perfectly reasonable multitasking -- no need to add another layer. My opinion, of course.

A lot of phones support it but only if you add a different back or case to the phone. The VZW G2 supports it out of the box. Even charges through most cases. (And I wouldn't use it if it didn't.)

Yup.
I don't know what a reviewer only feature is, but I know plenty of people who use the feature regularly. Perhaps in your case it's not necessary. But others results will vary. My girlfriend and I use it daily instead of the regular multitasking feature.

Started with a moto droid and received a galaxy nexus as a replacement. Really happy with that change. Found the white lg g2 for free cyber Monday and jumped on it. Totally impressed and happy with my decision. I thought GN was still ok but really tired of being tied to a charger or having to remove my otterbox to change batteries. The G2 is so much better in almost every category. Connecting to WiFi now in locations that the GN did not even register a signal. Cell reception seems great especially compared to my wife's SG3 which is really poor. Love the tap on/off feature, large screen and more room for icons. Worried the first few days because I would charge to 100% and stay there for almost an hour. I was not using the phone but still the GN would start dropping the second the charger came off. Does require configuring and turning off junk apps but that is the fun part. If getting a vzw phone today there is no better option IMHO.
