Considering the Tab 10.1

I'm debating if I should get a tablet. Currently I have a 13" Macbook Pro upgraded to 8GB ram and 500gb hybrid drive as my current laptop. It's very portable and not an issue to carry really. Performance is great, even when running Windows 7 and Linux VMs.
I also have an HTC Thunderbolt and have been leaving my laptop home most of the times when I travel because this device allows me to do pretty much everything I need when I'm on the road. I have been considering a tablet as a toy pretty much. I figure I wil tether it to my Thunderbolt and use that combo. Maybe to browse web, read forums, etc. I definitely am leaning towards Android because I don't like how the ipad is locked down and I would most likely root the Android tab at some point.

Here are my requirements:
Dual Core
Large screen like ipad
wifi only (no 3g/4g contracts)
16GB space
Honeycomb
Hi-res cameras (front and rear)
Skype compatibility
Solid, not clunky build quality

I really like Sense on my Thunderbolt but right now it looks like the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is the only thing that comes close to what I'm thinking. Is the Galaxy Tab 10.1 due up for replacement anytime soon? I've read about the HTC Puccini coming soon. Should I hold out for that? There hasn't been anything said about if Puccini is going to come in a wifi only version though...I have no problem waiting if something could be coming down the pipe soon. What do you guys think?

As of right now, I think the Tab is probably the best available as far as build quality, screen etc.

The TW update that is rolling out tomorrow will also be fixing the most common complaints found on these and other forums (mostly having to do with typing in forums, browser stability).

But if you're not in a particular rush to buy, supposedly quad-core devices will start rolling out sometime over the next 3-5 months. Although, if past history is any indication a lot of the first releases will be of questionable quality, aside from the quad-core cpu.

Disclaimer: My opinion is not exactly objective because I really do like the 10.1

However, I think an honest look at all the Android tablets on the market right now one could not go wrong choosing the 10.1. The device is responsive, lightweight and portable, sleek, professional and simply enjoyable on eyes and hands.

My opinion is that there is always something better coming in the future, but at some point you just have to jump in and go for it. If we waited for the "ultimate" do and have everything device we wouldn't buy anything, and would always be on the sidelines talking but never playing.

Thanks for the replies guys. I fully understand and subscribe to that notion of not "waiting and waiting" for the next best thing. However, I am also mindful of device refreshes and new releases. I wouldn't want to buy something I don't immediately need if there is a refresh in the short-term. I think I will wait a little while and see what happens. Like I said, this is going to be a toy first and then maybe I will find myself using it as a replacement to my couch browser macbook pro. But I have no complaints with the mbp so there is not urgent need. I'd really be interested to see if this Puccini is going to come in a wifi only version.
