considering they had 4 months to make it

Asus only had 4 months to make this. So there will be a lot of problems. Just because the screen doesn't stick doesn't make it cheap. Just rushed production. A reason why people could make the screws tighter trying to fix the screen. (Some of mine were bent ) I'm sure if this was released in q4 we wouldn't have some of the issues we have now.

So do you think its a "cheap" device or suffered from rushed production.

I'll say from rushed production, but i also think because of the amount of people who post about bad things happening the % of problems seems bigger than it actually is.

People don't go an post on forums when they don't have a problem with something and they got what they expected.

So all we are seeing is the people who had problems, not all the ones that didn't. I for example was super nervous when i was about to get mine that i would have problems because of all the posts on here i was seeing and mine is just fine. (sorry not trying to brag, just helping my point)

I was anxious to get my table because of the alleged problems. Happy to report that it's in amazing shape. I'm really liking the build quality and speed. No problems whatsoever. They could've had a year to build this thing and I would still be a happy customer.

Asus actually was delivering a tablet like this and Google squashed it right before they went to announce it in March. Google had already contracted them to make these and didn't want the same device under two names.

There is a square trade report done versus the ipad and ipad screen cracked when dropped and audio quit when submerged but Nexus survived both with scuffs

i work in a computer repair shot at the moment (Mom and Pop joint), and i had a couple of people ask me if it was an iProduct. I just smiled and said no. I proceeded to tell them the story of the Google's Nexus 7 Massacre with full orchestration and five part harmony.

I feel it was rushed production. There was an outcry because Google didn't ship the N7 by the 12th, which was a week before they stated the product would ship. Does that excuse shipping out a bad product? No, but like AlphaVictor87 said, most people who post on message boards have defective products.

Mine works great. No flaws. I actually bought it for my wife so I'm trying to justify buying another one for my own use, but the fact that I already have an iPad2 for work is making me whoo-sah and try to just wait. I really do prefer the 7" form factor and have a great disdain for Apple. But considering the iPad is free and does what I need, I'm trying to avoid splurging for unnecessary toys since I'm putting away money to get a new car.

I could probably convince my boss that I really need a N7 too, so we can ensure our website is compatible with both Android and iOS tablets. Hmmm...

That's not an excuse. They should have delayed the launch if QC was a problem.

+1 Rather than distribute faulty product (they had to know what was up with these things) to the masses only to get them right back via RMA they should have held off, ironed out the bugs and sent out non-flawed devices. Would have been alot easier on them from every angle.
