Does anyone know if moto will pull a new device like this soon? Remember the razr was launched and then shortly after the HD came out. Don't want to buy this phone and have that happen

The RAZR came our a year before the HD. The RAZR Maxx came out slightly after the original Droid RAZR.

The Droid Maxx is like every other phone - you'll see a new one around Late August of later next year. You got time.

What you really want to know is "guys, can you guarantee I won't have buyer's remorse?", and the answer is no. There's always something new & better coming out.

As said above, the thing that left a number of people feeling "burned" was when the RAZR Maxx came out shortly after the RAZR. The RAZR HD & HD Maxx came out at the same time as each other, a year later, about a year ago, and now the Ultra and Maxx were released at the same time. I doubt Motorola will come out with another phone in the very near future, as they're focused on the Moto X right now, but you really never know.

For me, the most likely device to make me possibly wish I would've waited to buy my new phone, instead of the Maxx, is the Nexus 5. But it could be anywhere from days to months until it's announced. I'm loving the Maxx, and have nothing worthwhile to complain about, so I'm a happy camper, and I doubt I'll end up with buyer's remorse.

I already have a little remorse, the Maxx Dev Edition has dropped!

I'm not to big on rooting so I'm fine with it. But that is the price for early adopters.

I understand the Nexus 5 remorse, but it won't have a big battery or active notifications. I am also not convinced we will see it on Verizon. The Nexus is the only other phone I would like to get, but I am happy with the Maxx. Truth be told, I can imagine having the Nexus and missing the Maxx feature set.

There will always be another must have around the corner.

Maybe I'm the only one but I'm satisfied enough with the maxx that if an HD came out tomorrow, I really wouldn't care.

You're not the only one. Dev edition came out and I don't care. About the only thing they could come out with that I would care about would be a new maxx with a nicer camera 2 or 3 months later. Next year won't bother me at all. Love this phone

When Motorola announced the exclusive droid contract with Verizon, they also said that the droids released would remain top of the line for quite a while, in order to let buyers know that they don't have to worry about better hardware coming out soon after release.

I'm not worried about it. I'll bet we'll be seeing new models around June to August next year. I guess time will tell.
