I am a veteran of the Note 7 debacle. I had the first version of the day following its release. I had the replacement the very day it arrived in Verizon stores. I was disappointed Samsung could not offer up a effective fix.

After returning my second Note 7, I opted for the LG V20. A good handset that did all I needed it to do. My sole disappointment was the lack of an LED to provide notifications. Picayune as it might be, that feature was important to me.

A couple of weeks ago I moved to payoff my V20 and went for the S8+. Got my LED back, a nicer dispaly and a larger screen; all important to me.

However, my confidence in Samsung is almost gone. The current issue of random reboots angers me. Silence from Samsung and all indicators are that either their quality control or pre-production testing/development are lacking.

It is not left to the customer to erase and rest, reformat SD cards, etc. When you lay down almost $1000.00 for a handset, you have a right to expect it to work from the minute you take it out of the box.

Samsung should be ashamed. Millions of consumers put down their hard-earned money to purchase Samsung-branded consumer electronics. And it is becoming increasingly clear that Samsung is failing in their responsibility to those consumers.

Nothing less than a permanent fix or an assertive recall/refund project to address the chronic S8 series reboot defect is acceptable. I would think a major company like Samsung should know that.

After i owned the Samsung galaxy s2 epic 4g touch. I swore off Samsung.

I guess I did have a free note 2 after that and it was nice. But this galaxy s8 sure is nice.
