Consumer Reports Says EVO is Top Sprint Phone

Consumer Reports magazine last updated its smartphone ratings in August -- and a lot has changed since then. But one thing that definitely hasn't changed is that Android dominates the ratings. It's almost embarrassing, actually. Here's how it breaks down for the four major U.S. carrier, with positions in parenthesis:

• Verizon: Motorola Droid X (1), Motorola Droid 2 (2), HTC Droid Incredible (3)
• T-Mobile: Samsung Vibrant (1), HTC myTouch 3G Slide (2)
• Sprint: HTC Evo 4G (1), Samsung Intercept (2), HTC Hero (3)
• AT&T: Samsung Captivate (1), iPhone 3GS (2), HTC Aria (3)

Of the top 11 smartphones available in the US, 10 are Androids.

i didnt need consumer reports to tell me its not the best phone on sprint...

out of all the phones i had while working for sprint for 5 years and a customer for 6, heres my rating

evo(1), mogul and sanyo 9000(tied at 2), palm pre (3 but thats a hard one since the hardware sucked)

This isn't news to us Evo owners. Its surely the Best phone Sprint has to offer, and arguebly the best Android phone on the market considering how feature packed and fast it is, but thats all semntics i guess.

the evo is infact the best phone and best built phone on sprint. As for the intercept, its one of the biggest pos phones on the market. Samsung needs to go back to the drawing boards.

The evo is the best phone for Sprint and probably the best smartphone on the planet right now. The Epic, Droid 2, and Droid X are definitely right there. But the evo is still the best. When it comes to features and capabilities. One thing that disappoints with the Evo is the battery life. That is the one thing stopping it frrom being perfect.

It's unfortunate that some users don't know how to do it. The phone can get some pretty good battery life when it's tweaked.
