Hi all,

I am new here and I joined because I can't seem to resolve this issue, even with Googling and such so if you guys can advice please, please.

So there the issue is, when I go to type a new "message" by going to "messaging" and I click on the "compose" (top right) then I choose the person I want to send too.
E-mail addresses etc appear.
I don't want that. I only want contacts to appear that are on the phone (Cell numbers etc)
The e-mails that appear are not saved contacts, so I'm sure the phone has pulled them from my Gmail account.

I've gone to options and "contacts to display"
Chose "device" but yet the e-mails still appear.
I've also gone to "settings" and ticked "only contacts with phones" and yet they still appear.

I'm stumped here... please help.

Thanks! :)

Welcome to the forums.
You seem to be doing everything right. Not sure why it is being stubborn.
What device are you using?

Your phone contact list is integrated with your gmail account. If a contact has a number and an email address it will show up. They are already on your phone. The only way to do what you want is to prevent your Google account from ever syncing the contact list (settings/accounts/google/#$^#@gmail.com) and untick the contacts. Then, edit out all of the info you do not want on your phone's contact (people) list.

However, now none of that info will be available when you want to send an email from your phone.
