Contact Photo Size?

Is this just a problem with synced contact pictures? Because I've just tried a factory reset, then added contacts to the phone before I've even set up any accounts to sync (even going so far as to turn off Wi-Fi) and I still get awfully pixellated contact images on the contact card so it seems as if there's local compression going on.

Also if I edit a contact picture and select 'My profile' as the image, then save and repeat this process the image gets more and more pixellated until it's just a mushy mess of colour.

Surely there should be at least the option of uncompressed contact images?

Finally, got my long awaited HOX yesterday and coming from an iphone ...I was also disappointed in the pixelated contact pictures but from reading this forum I dont think I'll be complaining about it ...wow :-\

I think you can get higher quality images by signing into google +. Default gmail Is low quality, and that Is where contacts gets them without goog+.

If that was the case, wouldn't you see this complaint from users of all phones?

This is my third android phone, and the third time I have heard this complaint. Gmail uses very low pixel contact images, and does compress them. Google+ uses better.

Has nothing to do with that. Google's contact sync service currently resizes photos to a size that's too small for the new People app. It has been fixed in jelly bean.

If I'm having a memory problem, I'll buy more memory, not use a sub-par device that can't do what I want or expect. This response is ignorant, immature and argumentative in nature. Sorry. Three cheers for your savvy memory savings by having a dumpy phone. :p The rest of us can afford a real phone where memory isn't an issue.
