Gmail has an option to automatically add email addresses to "other contacts" the first you send an email to an address . This is how it supports auto-complete of email addresses.
If you sync you phone contacts with Google, you can rapidly end up with duplicate contacts: one form your address book, which is synced to "My Contacts", and one (or more) in "Other Contacts." If you browse the contacts on your phone, you won't see the entries in "Other contacts," which is probably good. BUT, and here's the odd part, if you search in the contacts app, search will return all entries, including those in "Other contacts." It's annoying to have search return multiple entries for the same person.
Has anyone else noticed this? Has anyone figured out a way to prevent "Other contacts" from syncing with the phone?
