Okay..

So i know BB/RS/Sprint have there data transfer machine that transfers contact info and other information from one device to another.

Has anyone had them transfer there contacts from a blackberry to an android device? If so, did everything go over properly?

I'm seeing if I would have to have BB perform the transfer before i leave the store..

Thanks

Well, not directly to android, but what I did was download the Google Mobile App, synced the data, and then connected to my gmail account via a Palm, it should be the same for Android.

From your PC: http://www.google.com/mobile/

From your BB m.google.com

I would probably have to do that tonight before getting my EVO tomorrow.. Just seems like alot, especially if BB can just transfer everything on the spot..

But i dont want them to do anything if it wont go over properly..

The store transferred my contact info from my BB Curve to new Moto Droid. I believe all of the info is there but some of the formatting is a little different. (In text notes, carriage returns seem to be deleted resulting in one paragraph instead of notes on different lines as it was entered.) No other info was transferred.

When I got home and started to play with it was quite easy to transfer the contact and calendar data myself.

Sprint != BB (RIM is the actual company -- BB is a product).

In any case, it's pretty easy to transfer contacts. You can use the Google approach above or sync with your PC and import into gmail. Syncing and transferring will give you a backup of your contacts which is a plus IMO.

However, I personally can't see having someone else transfer data since I'm quite particular about formatting, etc. YMMV.
