Contact Weirdness

I understand the syncing issue with facebook and google. But when I go through my fb contacts, not all are shown, in fact, the ones I frequently contact are the ones missing. But, if I'm making a ringtone with ringdroid, I can assign it to any of the contacts, but I can't find out how to get all the contacts to show.
