contacts from facebook

Did a search and couldn't find what I was looking for...

I called a friend of mine that I hadn't yet programmed into my contacts, then after I called him, it listed him via his facebook profile like my other contacts, and lists him by name in the call log. However, he doesn't show up in my contacts, and there is not option to add him to my contacts. There is an option to edit contact, though, but selecting that comes back with a message that says "Facebook contact information is not editable on this device." He also shows up in the favorites tab, which seems to autopopulate based on how many times you call someone, but I've only called him once, and never added anyone to favorites.

Go into your contacts and create a new contact. Enter his phone number and all that other information, and when you enter his name, be sure to enter it exactly as it appears in the facebook contact entry you already have for him in your phone. The Droid will merge them automatically, usually within like 5 seconds or so after you save the new contact.

That's what I ended up doing anyway, but that just seems kind of redundant when all the information is right there.
