Contacts from SIM card not showing

I updated Note 4(SM-N910P) to marshmallow and I cant access my contacts on my SIM card. Its really strange the network and data works but cant access my contacts. I can't see the SIM card whenever I try to save a contact, so I only have to save on the device or my gmail account. I have tried other SIM cards and they have the same problem. The network works alright but I just cant have access to the contacts on them. Please help

Welcome to Android Central! Have you been able to save contacts to the SIM card in the past with this phone? Many phones, if not most these days, don't have the option to save to the SIM card (which has fairly minimal storage space anyway). If you know that the SIM card contains some contacts, then open the Contacts app, tap More, and look for an Import option. See if it gives you an option to Import from SIM card.

Yeah! I was able to save contacts on the SIM before I updated to Marshmallow but its not visible anymore. Everything about the SIM card isnt visible now and I cant see the "Import from SIM card" option

When you open Contacts and tap More, what options do you see? If there's an Advanced of Settings option, tap that and let us know what you see there.

My network is working alright and the data too but can't access to my contact on the Sim card.on my s6

Yes. That's correct. Open apps. Go to contacts.

In the right hand corner open menu. Go to manage sim contacts.

You will find all the stored contacts in the list. You can import and export from there. The phone will never display the contacts in the list.
