Contacts gone and won't reload

Without warning, all my wife's contacts disappeared. ATT was no help, so she turned to me.

Most of her contact info comes from her mail service - Hotmail. But Contacts no longer allows you to directly download the contact info from Hotmail.
So, I went into Google Contacts, and imported the contact information to there - no problem. I then synced the phone's Contacts with Google Contacts and some information was shared - everything except for the phone numbers!

I would appreciate any comments/suggestions on how to proceed - thanks, g

Try downloading the Outlook app on the play store. This app allows you to sign into Microsoft Exchange as a service to sync contacts. Since Outlook is a derivative of Hotmail, you will be able to sign in with the Hotmail address and sync the contacts back in. A similar problem happened on my old phone, and this is how I restored my contacts.
