Contacts not saving to the contact list?

Ok, so i noticed this one in the 2.2.1 update for the N1, and now with the NS the same problem. Upon saving contacts to my phonebook/ contacts they do not show up in the list, but when i go to send a message the contact will pop up when i type the persons name. So is this a bug or did Google twist something up to where you save contacts somewhere else? anyone else have the same problem?

Is it your display settings, maybe?

Go to your contact list and hit the menu button.
Then tap on "Display Options"
Select your Google account and be sure that "My Contacts" is checked, and go ahead and check "All Other Contacts".

See if that pops up the names for you.

thank you so much, this really helped. i wish it was easier going to contact and having all of the contacts instead of having to search for them. Thanks again.
