Contacts not syncing

OK group need some help. Have stock Maxx. Have been getting errors when trying to sync contacts. receive the "Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly." I have 3 gmail accounts, but only sync contacts on that one. I have reset my phone completely, dont want to go thru that again. Calendar and everything else syncs ok. I am at a loss.

Personally, I'd remove the account from the device, then add it back on again.
