Hello there,
My question would be the following:
If you have a contact and this contact is only in WhatsApp (e.g. you go to whatsapp, type the number of the contact there (without having it saved in your 'normal contacts' on the phone) and then add it as a WhatsApp chat).

So I would really like to know the following: If you would dial the number of this contact using the Keypad on the phone (where you normally dial the numbers to contact someone) --- does the name of the contact appear when you have entered the whole number? I know that this is the case for contacts you have saved in your 'normal contacts'. But I would like to know, if this is also the case for contacts, that only have been added in WhatsApp but not to the normal contacts.....

Can someone try this for me please? I hope the question is comprehensible...

Best Regards,

The thing is, if you have Whatsapp syncing contacts with your phone, than it might dial that person regardless.

Okay. But assuming that you do not have Whatsapp syncing contacts.
My question is not really about effectively dialing that person. Just typing in the number. Normally you see the name of the contact when you type the whole number (without already dialing him) if it is stored in contacts. Just would like to now, if this is also the case, if you have this number only as a whats app chat, without having it in the contacts....:-)

Best Regards

you can disable showing whatsapp contacts. open the contacts app and go to more - settings - contacts to display. there you can chose what you need to see or even customize and select your sources to be shown.
