Only thing I would root for is screen shots and removing att bloatware. If I can root with everything else staying the same, that would be great. Please inform me on this as I have no idea about rooting and stuff.

Rooting is a simple step. I had no idea what I was doing when I first started rooting. With SuperOneClick, it did it for me and was fast, and successful. I can now screen shot, and use other apps that require root. it's pretty sweet, not to mention I have control over my phone now! WHOLE control...

Can you give me a link to a guide with SuperOneClick, all I can find is articles about how it's so easy to root with it lol

EDIT: Found this and did it, http://theunlockr.com/2010/10/11/how-to-root-your-android-phone-superoneclick-method/

I have tested it by typing "su" into a terminal app and it gave # and asked for superuser access. From what I've read that means I'm rooted now :D
Just one question, whenever an at&t update comes out, do I have to unroot to install the update?

Head over to xda website. All your questions will be answered lol. As far ad it being rooted you should see the super user app in your app drawer. You will not get att updates while rooted. However you will have a custom gingerbread rom soon and will have 2.3 way before att gives it to you.

Sent from my rooted infuse flashed with infused!

I'm thinking of un-rooting then re-rooting after I get the update from AT&T... I don't wanna mess around with ROMs and have the chance of bricking my phone :s
