Content Locked after Gmail domain name has changed

I am trying to access locked files on an old phone that was setup with my University Gmail account a few years ago. Since then, the domain name has changed on the email. E.g. from @school.edu to @schoolsystem.edu.

I am unable to view any of the locked files because it says they are locked with another google account. I have tried all accounts on the phone but it still doesn't let me access them. Is it possible this domain name change is causing it to think I am on a different account? If so, how can I gain access?

Welcome to Android Central! Is the problem that you've forgotten the password/PIN/pattern on the phone? Is it prompting you to enter the Google account and password originally associated with the phone (which usually happens when Factory Reset Protection has been triggered)?
