Continuous notifications

So I work a lot. Because of that, I'm not on my pixel book constant. I may go a few days or so without using it.
The only issue with this is the fact that even though I have received all of the notifications on my phone and cleared them out, I still get ALL of my old notifications from the last time I had the pixel book on. And it tends to slow it down a bit while this is going on.
Is this happening to others? Any way to jot have this happen?

hi mate. I get that too. I have to clear all of them. thankfully I'm not that popular so don't get epic amounts of notifications lol. I don't get any slow down though
