This forum seems slow, is it that we dont have alot of people that own a continuum, was it a flop? or was this phone bought up by Avg users vs the AC type user

I think it may be still new and many of the owners haven't found their way over here yet. Some of android forums for the continuum are more active than this one.

Well i hope, this phone becomes more popular because the ticker seems like it could be a cool feature... well if it was using a bigger main screen that is.

AC has seen a lot of growth lately so hopefully that only means by default this forum will pick up a little bit. Fortunately, the Continuum is nearly identical to the other Galaxy devices, so questions other than something about the ticker can be embraced by a good chunk of the Galaxy community.

I am wondering if this phone just doesn't appeal to the typical forum reader. Regardless, I have one on the way for my fiancee (she likes the little bit thinner form factor) so I will try to stay active on this section of AC as well as the one for my Evo. Hopefully I will be able to give a good comparison with how the two devices differ in UI as well as how VZW works with Android vs Sprint.

I think part of the problem with the Continuum is like you said, it's not a big draw for the typical forum-goer. I think it might be appealing to a lot of regular consumers who are looking for something a little different, but for most of us on the forums I don't know if the ticker is enough of a draw to take away from some screen real-estate, especially on that beautiful sAMOLED screen.

I will be honest and say I was kinda nervous giving up some screen real estate for the ticker. However, the more I use the phone the more I begin to see how useful the ticker can be. I love the fact I read texts and emails from the ticker and not have to use the main screen. Also when using a full screened app I don't get knocked out if someone calls me, which is super awesome when I am playing angry birds and work calls (haha).

I actually went with a smaller phone simply because I didn't want a bulky phone in my pocket. In retrospect I think my next phone will have a much bigger screen. I kinda hope that Samsung releases a Continuum 2 with dual-core, 4.3 sAMOLED screen, and the same 1.8 ticker sometime in the next year or so. Ahhh, dreams :P
