I have a five year old Dell laptop. I want to use it as a Android device. What do I need to do?

Try Android-x86 - 4.4 RC1 or whatever the latest version the project is up to. Burn a CD. Install it in a VM first to make sure it runs on that laptop, and that you like it running on a laptop. Then you can install it in place of Windows.

Thanks. I would like to run both Windows and Android simultaneously. Is that possible?

Yes, but to dual boot you'd need to shrink the Windows partition and then install Android on a separate partition that you format.

Thanks again. I was looking to get rid of wifi from Comcast but it doesn't look feasible. My wife uses the laptop and would feel that the dual partion would be too complicated. Thanks again for your help.
