converting mkv to mp4

So I am trying to convert my mkv movies to mp4 but is it supposed to take around 6-8 hours for a 2 hour movie?! This whole no mkv support is almost a deal breaker. Also, does anyone have any recommendations for a converter. I run win7 64. Also, is it true that android can not handle files over 4gbs?

I just purchased noteburner last night and am in the process of converting all my itunes movies. Yes it takes a long time but it works very well.

Yeah unfortunately depending on your computer it can take an extremely long time to transcode...

I'm thinking about geting noteburner but, I only have two movies to convert from Itunes. It would be nice if the Android market could come up with a movie section like itunes.

Actually it's not your android phone can not handle 4G files, just because of the format of your SD Card is fat32, you card can not hold one file above 4G. About the converter, I think you can try to use Leawo Free MP4 Converter, because most of android mobile phone support MP4 video format.

use handbrake. i convert mkv to mp4 almost daily. it takes a while, but runs in the background. no big deal
