Copied video to computer is garbled

Copied video to computer is garbled - copied back to phone and played from phone works fine. Tried multiple players with no success

What video format is it in? Is this a video you took with the phone's camera, or did you download it from somewhere else?

It is a video I took with the camera. I think this could have been caused by a new update since all my videos taken since October don't work copied over. I also noticed the resolution of video taken by phone is 2224x1080 while my computer screen is 1920x1080

Yep the 2224 res is the problem. Just copied over 1920 and works fine. What can I do to fix the 2224 res videos so they work on computer?

That's odd, because the computer should still be able to scale the video down. Are these mp4 files?

Can you try it on a different PC (preferably one that hasn't had the latest Windows update)?

Or you could search for a Windows video converter that can retranscribe the video to 1920 - but even with a fast PC and an SSD, that could take a while. I doubt that you can see the difference between 1920 and 2224 on a phone, so why not just set the phone to take 1920X1080? (That's only a 13% difference - and on a small screen.)

A new graphics card and monitor would allow you to display 2224 on the PC, but that's probably not worth it.

I don't understand how this isn't being discussed more. A new update must of added more resolution to full screen filming and now you can't playback these videos on computers. Seems like a big problem that needs to be addressed

The question in my mind is if this is a problem with Windows or with your phone. Testing it on another PC might help clarify that.
