Copy and Paste

Am I the only one that cannot copy and Paste on the Thunderbolt ?

You need to explain what you're doing if want us to help. I can stare at my phone and it, indeed, won't copy/paste, but when I actually attempt it, it works fine.

List the steps you're following, in order and we'll see what's up.

Agree, I have Swype installed and have copy/paste everywhere I've tried to use it. Works very well, much better than my Droid.

I'm using the standard keyboard. I tap the text on a web page. The menu come up to copy call sms or save to. I select copy. When I go to the next screen and bring up the keyboard I have no option to paste. I've tried to hold down the input box but no luck. I'm sure I'm missing something simple but I can't figure it out. Thanks in Advance for your help.

Not sure where you're seeing the "copy call sms or save to". When I press and hold a block of text on a website, I get "Copy - Quick Lookup - Share Via".

What kind of text are you selecting? A link or something? And do you ever get the selection tool (with the edges you can drag to select more/less text?

I'm not sure you can copy/paste webpages. I think the choices you're seeing are for the whole page, which would be inappropriate for an input box in a message. You say you "go to the next screen". Screen in what?

well i am having this problem too. sometimes my phone will not allow me to send a text after i typed up my message. so i tried to copy and paste it or cut and paste it. it lets me copy or cut but when i try to paste it doesn't give me the option. however when i delete my message or cut it and type something new, the send option becomes available again. not sure what is going on, but this happened twice yesterday.

Send button being grayed out in SMS is a known problem (not related to copy/cut/paste). It happens randomly for me too. I've seen a few threads about it here as well. I think the workaround is to discard and start a new text.

Hopefully it will be fixed in the next OS update.

Even easier: tap the back arrow so it saves as a draft, then go in and send it from your drafts folder.

Gotcha. Only time I've seen that is if I thought I copied something, but it didn't actually copy. Always gives me Paste and Input Method.

Strange. I've had the grayed-out button issue a few dozen times and that workaround always helped. Sorry it didn't work for you.
