Copy/Paste difference between Gmail & Mail App

In the non Gmail app cut an paste works very slick - very similar to Iphone but in the Gmail app it works much differently. I have to go into a menu and say copy and paste - then get one shot at what I need to paste. Am I doing anything wrong? Is google ever going to fix this in the gmail app??

I agree it sucks the way it is now I can never copy the exact text I'm trying to copy!

that's one disadvantage of not having a trackball. i find myself using copy/paste a whole lot with the trackball on the nexus.

it's better than nothing which is what we had prior to Froyo 2.2.

i do like HTC's "pointer" implementation.
