Whats the correct way to store a phone number? I recently redid all my contacts, categorizing them all as a google contact. I noticed the most of my numbers are listed in the format:
(204) 111-1111
While some are stored as
+1 204-111-1111

Which format is correct?
Can this affect group texting if I'm trying to text two contacts with different number formatting like this but in the same message thread??

All of those formats are essentially the same. If you don't put the 1 it will auto add them etc. It's just a different way of having them entered.

Shouldn't have any effect on calls, group messages etc.

I figured that, but am glad the OP asked the question, because just the fact that Contacts numbers display differently in my call log is mildfly annoying. I've wondered why that is when I generally enter all my contact numbers in the (123) 456-7890 format. Some still show up with the +1, no (), and I haven't figured out why.

I was just going to ask the exact same thing. If i enter everything in a specific format, why does it default to another format? What app changes their format??
