Corrupted 32Gb Class 10 SanDisk

I have a 32 GB Class 10 SanDisk UHS-1 MicroSD card in my unrooted, unmodded Verizon Galasy S3. I once tried to play a 720p video on it, it froze, my phone restarted and then it finished booting, it said my memory card may be corrupt. Sure enough, when I access my file browser, almost all my files were gone, minus a few random documents. When I plug the card into my PC, the exact same thing is shown, all but a few documents are gone.

I reformatted it and have using it with no problem for 2-3 weeks now. However, today, when I go to play a video that I recorded on my phone, the same thing happened. The phone froze and restarted and presented me with a corrupt message upon reboot. I went into the phone and mounted the disk (the phone automatically unmounted the disk) without taking the disk out and all my files were thankfully still there.

Has anyone else encountered this problem?

From what I've been reading around these here threads, the microSD cards seem to be really finicky, in GS3's. Don't know if that goes for all micro SD cards, but it's kinda starting to sound like microSD cards are basically just a crap shoot & roll of the dice; some work, some don't; some work and then start acting-up and go bad. I was just reading yesterday where one AC member was saying that, in his opinion, SanDisk were definitely the best. But many SanDisk SD cards go bad too.
Makes you wonder if it's the GS3 that's causing all most of the problems. :-\

Btw, my wife & I have the same SanDisk card as yours, and so far, so good, with ours. :-| . . .but now I'm startin' to kinda wonder when ours are gonna go TU.

got same card too but its russian roulette with the s3 it seems and samsung wont replace em coz theyr not samsung cards which is mental coz its a UNIVERSAL slot.
aparently sandisk replace no problem though and theyre aware its an s3 problem
(do regular backups)

jamesino - since you seem to have a solid repro case, I'd suggest that you reformat your SDCard as FAT32 (after moving your files off of course) and then try reproducing the problem. You'll have to reformat it in an SDCard reader; just do a search for FAT32 and you'll turn up some utilities that will allow you to accomplish that.
I seriously doubt that there's anything physically wrong with the SDCard that you have, and it's pretty tough to ruin one of these things.

I got the OTA jellybean update on my s3 took a screenshot of the upload file size

http://db.tt/IxDFaBEH

http://db.tt/zxmsTmbl

the update auto saves your files on your s3
I didn't lose any data after the update everything is as it was before the OTA update just minus the apn settings which I already had saved on my SD card

Regards scara

Didn't you use Google Now to give you an explanation? Shame! All of that Jelly Bean goodness going to waste...

I think I did reformat it as FAT32 the first time I got it.

When I first received the card, I opened up the package and popped it into my laptop's SD card slot. I have a Win7 machine, I right clicked on the card that popped up in My Computer and clicked Format. The setting was on FAT32 (Default), Allocation size 32 kb.
