Could it be something other than the battery?

Hi,

I have a 2.5yo nexus 4.
A year ago, a little less maybe, the battery started dieing at 30%+.

I replaced it with a new one, but the problem didn't go away, but was bearable.

The last month it became unbearable, and the phone almost constantly dies at 50% or so. After 20 min charge it could suddenly go up to 80%

Could it be something other Than the battery?
(tried all the battery fix apps, including rooting the device to operate them).

Thanks

Those are classic symptoms of a failing battery as you are obviously aware, but there does seem to be something else going on....a short circuit or bad component or something.
I apologise for the useless answer....I'm just trying to kick-start the thread. :)
