Could use some help

I tried to install a custom rom earlier today and after the HTC Evo start screen the phone just stayed black with the back light on. I Then booted into recovery loaded a backup and made a second attempt using RA recovery instead of clock work. Well it failed agian, and now i'm kinda stuck with a phone that will go to a black screen or Ra Recovery. All my Backups are from Clockwork recovery and I guess RA won't recognize them, I could really use some help or suggestions about what to do, thank you.

Remove the SD card from you phone and put it in a card reader on your PC. Copy a known good ROM .zip to the root of the SD card. Put the SD card back into your phone and boot into RA Recovery. Wipe data/cache/dalvik and flash the zip. Boot into the new ROM and restore Clockwork. Then you should be able to get back to all you older backups.
