I am not new to android by any means and let me explain what I want to do with the tab. I can't ask a store these questions because what I want to do with it is nefarious in their eyes. Anyways the set up is that my parents live out in the boonies and their only option for high speed internet is Verizon 3G but they can't/won't pay for a dedicated 3G modem. Now I know that 2 gigs would be plenty for them and they are more comfortable paying the $30 a month for internet. I am technically savvy enough to root a Verizon Galaxy Tab (already looked at whats involved at XDA seems pretty easy) What I want to know is:
1. Does Verizon detect that it is being used as a mobile hotspot/tether?
2. Is it worth $200 that they are asking for it (considering it is going to become a cheaper monthly alternative to a usb modem)
3. Am I going to get phone calls every day from my mother because "something is wrong with this damn thing"?
