I recently began using CevyNo1's 1.1 ghz ulv kernel. There was never any problem, but now it seems to get hot really fast. Is it because of this or the ROM I'm using. I usually have the CPU set at stock or 800 mhz until I want to do something heavy in which case I increase it to 1.1 only for thirty minutes or so.

try a different kernel. or look at your usage what you think is hot to your cpu really isnt the cpu can really take some heat but who knows about the surrounding parts

mine got really hot too when i had it set at 1.1 i just backed it down to 1.0ghz and it doesn't get nearly as hot, runs just as fast, and is better on the battery that the 1.1 kernel was

^^whose kernel are you using and what voltage level are you using. my phone doesnt really get hot anymore. but if i sit outside for about an hour and try to use my phone it will just about burn itself up even at 550

You really shouldn't get high temps with that kernel what are your settings

Chevy did say that if a phone doesn't like a low voltage kernel, it can indeed get really hot.

hmm didnt hear that maybe you should try just the lv kernel or the standard versoin. im running p3's standard kernel and dont have any issue with heat

I'm using Chevy's 1.0 lv kernel, and SetCPU gives me warnings at least 3 times a day about cpu temps getting too hot. I have the profile set at 109*, I don't know if that is too hot, but that is where I set the alert. Typically when I get the notification I put the phone to sleep for a little bit and the temp goes back to normal.

It kind of freaks me out that it happens so often. I'm going to try the 800 kernel and see if that changes anything.
