Just needed to vent.. thought I'd post on here to see if anyone has any advice as to what I should do. I literally walked into my local AT&T store 2 months ago to the day and plunked down my money for a shiny new HTC One. After being away from the Android platform for a couple of years (former Droid, X, X2 and Thunderbolt owner) is was excited to get away from the iPhone that I had and come home.
For some reason when I bought this phone I did something that I've NEVER done in my life... I bought a case. I realized that I was making a 2 year commitment to this phone and thought it would be best to protect my investment.. so naturally I bought an Otter Box. It actually killed me to put this beauty in a case that hid its sexiness and made it feel like a brick in my hand, but hey.. better safe than sorry eh?
Flash forward to today...I'm still as smitten with this phone as the day I bought it. I get myself ready for work, check a couple of emails on my phone and put the phone in my pocket, get in my car and start my 1 hour journey to work. Now mind you... I have a self-imposed rule. My right front pocket is dedicated to my phone. NOTHING and I mean NOTHING is ever allowed to be in that pocket with my phone... no keys, change etc... that space has ALWAYS been reserved as a safe-haven for my phones to prevent anything from happening to them.
Imagine my surprise when i get to work and take my phone out of my pocket and find the screen cracked and spidering all the way across. I immediately think through my drive... nothing of any detail that I can think of that would explain this. I run out to my car to make sure that I didn't total it on the way in.... Nope... car is just fine. Of course.. my next step is the most logical step that I would expect anyone to make in this situation. I ran to the mens room at work, did the 'under the stall peek' for feet to make sure that nobody else was in there. Once I had cleared the mens room I locked the door behind me. The only logical next step was to strip down to my skivvies, climb up on the counter and scrutinize every pore on my body for any sign of blemish, bump, bruise, laceration or fracture to make sure that I didn't accidentally fall out of my car on my way to work. Nope... no sign of outward injury there either.
So now I'm left with the fact that my screen cracked in my pocket.
In an Otter Box.
While I'm sitting down.
For an Hour.
