Create New SMS/MMS

I noticed that when I go to create a new text message and begin to type the name or number affiliated with the person I'm trying to reach, even though under my "People" list in my contacts themselves is ONLY selected as "contacts on phone" and not gmail or facebook, when I go to create a new message, every single person I have on my phone, regardless of who's the account via gmail or fb, I have to scroll through all of the lists to find the person I want. Is there any way to disable this feature so I dont have to go through every linked contact to send a text? I've tried going through every setting possible and still no luck

That's not limited to the Rhyme, it does the same thing on my Thunderbolt. Not sure there is a setting to change that.

In "Messages", go to compose a new message. To the right of the "To" box, click the people icon.
Now your contacts should be listed below, and the box "Search People" should be on top. Select Menu, and toggle Show/Hide Email.
