Hi, i have a issue with Allcast, i have a USB drive connected to my car system (android 9.0), but it doesnt show the USB disk (storage/usbdisk0)

I would like, if possible, to create a folder in the emulated/0/movies folder that links to the usb folder at click on.

I found a million on how to do shortcut to home screen, not the other way though

Is this possible? an app or some wierd thing to do? (like same you do on windows when you create a folder shortcut anywhere to anywhere).

Thanks.

Ok you are using the app Allcast to mirror your device to the system in your car but your plugging the media into the car system and trying to access it through file systems available to your phone is what I'm getting from your post. I think the issue is the file system on your phone, while being displayed and manipulated through the car system cannot see items connected to the car system. I'm assuming that if you were using just the car system, via its own interface, it would see the thumb drive. Is that is how you got the location storage/usbdisk0?

While there is no way to put links or widgets in Android folders, I think you would still be outta luck if it isn't seeing the thumb drive to begin with.

I think you need to connect the USB thumb drive to the phone. That would make it visible to the phone and I would imagine visible when the phone is mirrored on the car system. Not sure what device you have but at least the last few generations of Samsungs have come with a USB to USB-C adaptor that should work to connect the two. If your brand doesn't have anything like that, they can be had for cheap online. Like 4 bucks at Amazon.
