Creating app collections

On my Nexus phone, you can click on the "Google" collection and 13 choices appear (i.e. gmail, google+, maps, Playstore, etc.). It's very similar to the iPhone app categories. My question is, can you create new categories or collections? Could I create a "social media" folder and put all my social apps in there? If yes, how?

Nevermind. Found it. To anyone with the same question, just drag one app over the other to create a folder that can be renamed. Kind of intuitive, but not at the same time...

tap on the "unnamed folder" to rename it, just an FYI

you can also merge two folder this way.
