i am in the same boat. i had my pics organized by folders on my old BB Tour. When i transferred them onto my Incredible, they all show up together by date. Would like to see folder view if possible.

I do not know of a way to create a new folder and save new pictures that you are taking. The only thing I can think of is to connect the phone as a disk drive and create and your folders as you see fit. Then organize your pictures and put them in to the different folders. When you open up the "Photos" app, it will then be organized according to the folder name you assigned.

I had a BB Storm and never organized my pictures into different folders. I may start organizing them on my Incredible though.

Perhaps there is an app that allows you to do what you want without connecting it to a computer. Or maybe a patch that will allow you to create or choose a folder within the camera app itself.

you can do it as above

you can also download a file explorer app like ASTRO file manager and do it on the phone.

and just to clarify, the camera will save pictures to the default directory and you can manage them after the fact

The default is to save the images to the phone storage, as of now no file manager on android can read internal phone storage. If you plan on managing these files with a file manager you will need to setup the camera to save to the SD card instead of Phone storage.

I personally put them in separate folders and they still all appear together. Which is nice but, to an extent. Also my album art from my music appears in these areas which is really annoying. When the hell am I going to want to look at my album art?

If your putting your music on the phone storage make sure it's in the folder MP3. If your using an sd card make a folder called music, the album art won't show up if you have it in the right folder.

I would recomend makeing the following folders: Music, video, notifications, ringtones

Use Astro or plug the phone into your computer.

i did this already, thats when i found out the photo app doesn't separate the pics by folder. just shows them all together.

thank u all for ur input..i did all of the above but still, all the photos save into one folder even after i put the setting to save on the SD and i did plug my phone to my laptop and created folders but once again they still save in one folder...and i did dl the astro app but same story..but thank u all so much for being kind and helping me!! hopefully there will be an app or an update that will allow us to make these changes effortlessly

when you open the photos app, it should open to the gallery which has the pictures seperated by the names of the folders they are in. That's how it's working on mine.

ANSWER: Easy fix is just plugging it into your computer and sorting the photos into separate folders. NOTE: folders must NOT be inside the DCIM camera folder, since everything inside that folder is lumped into a camera album.

Just put all of your photo folders under its own media folder. There was already one created for me. once you disconnect from your computer, your photos will show in the albums you created. Hope this helps, leave thanks on twitter: @stawnkaufman

Thanks, just tried it and works perfect now. I created another folder OUTSIDE of the DCIM folder called My Photos. In there i put all my photo albums. now in the photo app underneath all photos/videos, it says Phone Storage and then lists all my picture folders. thanks so much for the help! i made the same mistake of putting all the pics inside the DCIM folder.

Thanks, guys! Been bugging me all week how to get the photo albums back that I had on my sd card. :)

Figured I'd share this info with you guys after spending over an hour and half on the phone with VZW. BTW, Julia G. at VZW is freaking awesome.
So it is possible to access the pics your camera saves to your phone's memory. Simply take out the sd card and plug your phone in to your computer. You'll get 2 drives, one is for your sd card, which is not inserted, and the other is Android files. Find "DCIM", then go into "100MEDIA". All the pics your camera took are in this file. But make sure you have already taken your sd card out or it wouldn't work. And make sure to change the option in camera settings to save all pics to the sd card too.
Hope this helps......
BTW, don't try to attach 19 pics at 3264x1952 resolution or it will literally crash your Gmail until you take the pics of your phone haha.

Works for me too. Thanks!

I wonder why Salling Media Sync doesn't implement this properly with iPhoto. I rather have the app do the syncing automatically than having to create folder manually. Thanks for sharing.

I am trying to move my pictures from /emmc/DCIM/100MEDIA to a folder I created on my sd card at /sdcard/photos. I am using Astro File Manager. When I select the pics to move, I then navigate to the sd card folder but when I click on 'Paste' the pics are not moved...nothing happens. Any thoughts?

Worked for me after 2 battery pulls. Thank you so much. I was hating having to go through all my many photos to find just one.
