Crown Icon on pictures in Gallery

Here's what it looks like:

Any idea what the crown icon means? It is only on those 3 pictures out of all of my thousands... I can't figure it out! I can't even find it via google... I made an account here specifically to ask this community!

Welcome to Android Central! That doesn't look like the stock Android Gallery app, or the new Google+ Photos app. What device are you using? Are you using the photo gallery app that came preinstalled on your phone, or are you using a 3rd party app?

I assumed that it was for the "best shot" mode and that the crowned picture was the best lol... I could totally be wrong but that's my guess

I am just now noticing these myself. It's a stock S3 photo album. But I'd really like to know what it means.
