Curved back

I am considering getting the new Moto X when it comes out. I often leave my phone (Galaxy S6) on my desk and navigate on it without lifting it up. With the curved back on the Moto would that be a problem?

It will probably be easier to do with a case on it. One of the really nice things about Motorola is that you can do many things without having to touch the phone.

You're right to be concerned. The curved back does indeed make it frustrating to use when placed on a desk etc. As mentioned above, you would need to use a case or something

For all it's worth, I have a Poetic Affinity case for my Moto X. The way the case is designed in the back completely fixes the curve issue. The back is still curved so it feels good in hand, but the top and bottom have small rubber sections that keep the phone perfectly flat on a desk. I didn't even know this was a feature when buying the case, so I'm very pleasantly surprised.

Test typing on X with 1 finger while it lays on the table. I touch lightly and notice minor wobble when I hit that damned O key way over there --->

Doesn't bother me. Of course, I haven't typed this way once with 2 X's. I just tell it to do stuff for me. Hehe.

Depends on your case, as mentioned above, but I navigate on my Moto X lying face up at my desk a fair bit and don't have a lot of issues with it. I've been using the Body Glove and the Supcase from the Moto X case post I wrote up a few months ago for the site.
