Custom dock stand

]My wife just got her accessories from Costco yesterday (after a 17 day wait). I'd never used a car dock, so I decided to see if it was worthwhile. Wow-- I like how dock mode works!

Not wanting to put it on the windshield, or mount the adhesive patch to the dash, I needed to find some way to afix the dock to the car. I rummaged around for a while in my shop and eventually settled on a can of the right size to fit the cup holder in the console. Being a woodworker, I fashioned an appropriately tall extension, as you can see in the photo.

Now that I've got the Sienna outfitted with a dock, I turned my attention to my Ford pickup. Again, rummaging around in my shop, I found something ideal for fitting the coffee cup holder and it will require very little in the way of affixing it to the dock hardware. Now all I have to do is find a GOOD PRICE ON THE DOCK.

ack. I misstyped and changed it to Amazon but it didn't take.

amazon with no shipping is $38. the link you provided requires shipping charges, but thank you for responding--the price is essentially identical.

What a creative solution! Very nicely done. Go into mass production and you may have your "retirement" in hand! Seriously, though, extremely well done! Thanksfor sharing.
