custom notification sounds

Where do you put files that you want in the notification sounds list? I put them in the notifications folder but they're not showing up in the notification sounds column. I see them in the music section but not on the list does anybody know where to put them?

This is a software limitation, the same happens with the ringtones, the only way I could manage to use them was to add them to the music tab.

I started a thread on the official ZTE US forums and we are just waiting to see if this is fixed with the next already announced software update, or ever.

I omitted this issue using apps audiko ringtone and Zedge (always use them with my phones). I had to give them permission to modify system settings. Go to settings-apps, then press the gear icon - it's menu to configure apps, the last listed is modify system settings, tap it and allow desired app to enable.
I have all custom sounds, for general ringtone, contact ringtones, notification, messages and alarm. It works as i wish, no complaints about - super smooth
