I have a custom ringtone (Manamana from the Muppets) and a custom notification (Message for your Sir from Holy Grail) which I can select from the Sounds menu, and they work for a while, but then they reset back to the default sounds. I have the Verizon version of the G4. Anyone else noticed this?

I have my phone on vibrate 99% of the time, and when I change the vibrate pattern from the factory set one to one of the other LG provided vibration patterns, the phone still uses the original vibration, even though it is set to something else. I assume these are all stored on the phone memory so it should not be an SD card issue.
I also created a couple of custom vibration patterns using the provided software, and again even though the phone is set to the new pattern, it still uses the factory set vibration tone.
I've tried wiping the cache and a battery pull, neither did anything.
It's like there is a line of code missing from 5.1 to handle the switch of vibration tones, or is this an LG issue?

You have to go inside the call settings then set your ringtone from there same with messenging app. Selecting it from sounds and notifications wont make it work alone. I had same problem but once I went inside the app and selected the ringtone it works now.

There isn't a ring tone option in Call Settings... Just one for voice-mail.

What am I missing?

I having the exact same issue. When I choose a ringtone, factory or one on the internal storage, it won't even play in the settings menu. Text notifications will play in the settings menu but also will not work when I receive a notification.

I'm using an AT&T G4 btw. Ringtones and notification sounds not playing is a pretty serious issue for a cell phone.

Using ES Fileexplorer, mine works. But I'm not sure if that's the only reason why I can choose custom notifications and you guys can't? ES FileExplorer downloaded as one of my apps connected to my account.

Try that out and let me know.
