Custom SMS ringtone from email

My issue is that I regularly receive text messages from an email adress. I volunteer as an EMT/Firefighter, and these text messages are a secondary form of dispatch. My issue is that the custom SMS tone I have set up in the contact for my Dispatch does not work, and it just uses the default SMS tone. Any way to work around this? Stock Galaxy Note 3 on android 4.3.
