I cancelled cable and get all my TV through android phone and tablet... i use screen mirroring. Problem is... when projecting tv i cant use my device. We all like to piddle around online with the tv on in the background but i cant do this... im looking for a way to cast a video from device while still being able to play around on device...kind of like using tv as second desktop for video and keeping tablet screen for regular use. Android needs this function.
What app are you using for your TV viewing? If it supports Chromecast, get a Chromecast, then you can do whatever you want on your tablet while still casting to the TV.

I use charter spectrum app... my cable was $75 a month but you can ditch the box and select 10 channels plus local for $20... you have to stream them on device though...

Actually, with that setup I don't think it is. I can't use Chromecast from within the Spectrum TV app. Roku is though, that device has a Spectrum app. I have a Roku TV that has the Spectrum app available.
